The first day of school is August 18.
Powderpuff Football Sign-ups are now available in the Main Office at Penn! Forms, insurance and shirt orders must be turned in by August 24th. The informational meeting will take place on August 23rd, at 6:30pm in the Penn Cafe. All who are going to play must attend. The games will be held on Wednesday, September 15th at 7:00pm on Freed Field.
Congratulations to Florence Chen who placed sixth in the Congressional Debate Senate category of the National Forensix League's National Tournament held in Kansas City. In addition, Florence was elected governor of Girls State and was one of only 102 young women selected to attend Girls Nation.
Information for the beginning of school
The first day of school is Wednesday, August 18. It will be a full day of school and will be a GOLD day. Students will be able to see their schedules for Gold 1 classes posted inside Doors A and B and also by the Bookstore.
Health department offers free vaccinations
New vaccinations are now required for students in grades 6-12: Tdap; Menactra; and second Varicella.
The St. Joseph County Health Department is offering shot clinics for children who are unable to receive these vacinations from their doctor. All clinics will be held in the lobby of the County-City Building, 227 West Jefferson Blvd., South Bend.
All shots are FREE! Parents must bring student's complete shot record:

Yearbook orders
The Penn 2009-2010 Bittersweet yearbook will be delivered during lunch hours in late August (no earlier than August 25th). Graduates may pick up their yearbooks at the security booth during regular school hours. A limited quantity of yearbooks are available for purchase at $60 at www.jostensyearbooks.com.
Penn-Harris-Madison welcomes non-resident students
The Penn-Harris-Madison Board of School Trustees has adopted a policy that allows non-resident students to apply to attend a P-H-M school for educational reasons. The non-resident student must be in good standing in his/her resident school corporation, and parents/ guardians must provide transportation to and from school.

Upcoming Reunions for 2010
If your class has a reunion planned for 2010, let the Penn High School Alumni Association know as soon as you can and we will post your information on this site. Also, the Association can assist with you with class reunion plans by providing mailing lists, printing labels, and sending out mailings at a nominal charge.
